    Johnny Depp

holy hell.... i just saw Pirates of the Caribbean and its one of the most entertaining movies i have seen this year !!!!

and and and ... Johnny Depp is freaking awesome in this movie !!!... i always did like him, already in Edward Scissorhands and Sleepy Hollow. I did not like him so much in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas but in Pirates of the Caribbean .... Depp stole the movie.. he made this movie entertaining and fun
:big grin: even my 67 year old dad agrees

i never really did give any importance to him before, his acting seemed always so subtle, but this time in Pirates, he got it right, he stole the show....hehehe

damn i love this guy, great actor very versatile....

so whats your favorite movie of Mr. Depp?

I'm a huge Depp fan. Hell, I even watched 21 Jump Street growing up. (Yeah, that's right...)

I always loved him in Edward Scissorhands. Ed Wood & From Hell are awesome too. Sleepy Hollow, Blow & The Ninth Gate is excellent as well.

And you guys DEFINETELY have to check out Nick of Time. I think that role solidfied me as a total Depp fan. Just an awesome, AWESOME movie. Damn, I need to get that on DVD and make a trailer for it!

    What took you so long?

Did it really only just get released in Europe?
You're waiting for a train, a train that will take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you, but you can't be sure. But it doesn't matter - because we'll be together.

Well, now he's getting very big very fast between Pirates, Desperado 2, and his being announced as the next Willy Wonka. And there are few people I would rather see it happen to. He's earned it.

My favourite performance of his to-date is still Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas.

Some people don't like it cos he's playing a whacky character based on a whacky person in real life (listen to the audio commentary on the Criterion DVD and you'll know what I mean by 'whacky'!) But it does show how good he is as an actor.

BTW Pirates of the Caribbean won't come out Down Under until next week so can't tell if he's that good as tisoy said. But I'm looking forward to see the flick for sure.

    and smart tooooo !!!!!!
    http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...germany_depp_3

BERLIN - American actor Johnny Depp (news) likened his native country to a "dumb puppy that has big teeth" in an interview published Wednesday, ridiculing Washington's confrontation with France, where he lives, over the war in Iraq (news - web sites).

The "Edward Scissorhands" and "Sleepy Hollow" star, who spends much of his time in the south of France with his companion, Vanessa Paradis (news), and their two small children, told the German magazine he couldn't see himself paying more than short visits to his Los Angeles residence in the present political climate.

"America is dumb, is something like a dumb puppy that has big teeth — that can bite and hurt you, aggressive," Depp was quoted as saying.

Depp recalled that French fries were renamed "Freedom" fries in the House cafeteria on Capitol Hill at the height of U.S. anger over France's refusal to back the administration of President George W. Bush (news - web sites) over the war in Iraq.

"Nothing made me happier than when I read that — grown men and grown women in positions of power in the United States government," Depp said. "I was ecstatic because they revealed themselves as idiots."

Depp said he wanted his two children, ages 1 and 4, to experience the United States "like it's a kind a toy — a broken toy maybe. Investigate a little bit, check it out, get this feeling and then get out."
