    Yeah because the money made represents the films quality. In that case I guess Michael Baye desrves a spot on the list with the likes of Kurosawa, because afterall he made money.

    If anything is proven in your quote it's that 4 was crap nand new knightmare was better.

    Oh, and wash your mouth out boy!

    That won't prove anything. Just because it's a favorurite among a certain group (say this Forum) doesn't really mean it's good. It can be because a lot of teens who's into crappy scary movies and don't see many other kinds of movies log on and vote on the day the poll is put up.

    And yes, by that rationale Michael Bay is way way WAAAAAY much higher on that list than Kurosawa - Criterion even gave Armageddon a royal treatment, while we're still longing for a remaster DVD of Seven Samurai. (Yes that will be the shame of the company forever.)

    True, that is one thing about polls...we're all movie nerds! Sorry, but it's true.

    So late in this conversation but since Box Office was being talked about for the Nightmare series... here's how they break down. All from www.boxofficemojo.com ...

    A Nightmare on Elm Street
    11/9/84
    $ 1,271,000
    $ 25,504,513

    A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy’s Revenge
    11/1/85
    $ 2,865,475
    $ 29,999,213

    A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors
    2/27/87
    $ 8,880,555
    $ 44,793,222

    A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master
    8/19/88
    $ 12,833,403
    $ 49,369,899

    A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child
    8/11/89
    $ 8,115,176
    $ 22,168,359

    Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare
    9/13/91
    $ 12,966,525
    $ 34,872,033

    Wes Craven’s New Nightmare
    10/14/94
    $ 6,667,118
    $ 18,090,181

    Freddy Vs. Jason
    8/15/03
    $ 36,428,066
    $ 82,622,655

    For what it's worth, I thought #3 and New Nightmare were great sequels. 3 was even written by Frank Darabont.
