seems kinda weak against the P4s.
Are you a Mexi-CAN or a Mexi-CAN'T?

but remember the AMDs are only clocked at 2GHz, versus the 3.2Ghz of Intel, and also a new OS is needed WinXP 64 bit

Unfortunately, for now at least, I have a similar problem with these 64-bit chips that I had with the Mac G5... very little software available right now supports the 64-bit interface and will still work at 32-bit levels. Theoretical number crunching doesn't mean much until you can get some real-world tests. The same thing happened when the transition from 16-bit to 32-bit occurred. It took a while for the software to catch up.
That being said, I am really excited about the possibilities this could open up in a year or so.

And maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think video encoding is a very good for benchmarking.
Considering this. My old 400MHz AMD-K6-2 with 3D Now, decodes MPEG2 and Playbacksback DVDs 100% perfect (because of the ATI card). PowerDVD on even most 2GHz systems skips. Now is my 4-year-old 400MHz AMD faster then most of the 2GHz systems on the market? Hell on, but an MPEG2 decoding benchmark would tell you it is :big grin:
