Post What to expect with the Spider-man 2 Trailer

Sony has officially announced that the teaser trailer for the sequel will be hitting with copies of "Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" in cinemas on December 17th, but will also make its debut online on December 15th over at the film's official site. To tide fans over til then, AICN has posted up this great description of what to expect:

"The teaser begins with a dialogue between Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. They are in a coffee shop and she asks him if he loves her. He says "no", trembling. "Okay, if you don't love me, give me a kiss", she says and leans forward. "I would like to see something". You can notice he's very nervous. Just when they're about to kiss he ducks in slow motion and pushes her to the floor.

We see a full size car smashing through the coffee shop window and nearly hitting them. In slow motion one of the car wheels almost peels Toby's face off. Then, right through the broken entrance comes Doc Ock, walking with his tentacles, never touching the ground, like a metal spider. We cut to a series of rapid shots of Alfred Molina, showing off his tentacles (they're attached to his back like a metal backpack) before an audience.

Then shots of Spidey swinging in the city. Then James Franco with his eyes open in astonishment. Then some shots of Spidey and Ock fighting. Actually Doc Ock grabbing Spidey with one of his tentacles and shaking him and tossing him around.

Finally, Doc climbing like Spidey a building but with his tentacles until he reaches the top and stand there in full supervillain pose. We pull back and the Doc Ock image fills the eye of Spidey and the letters appear: 2 - July 2004. Notice that, like the poster, they never say it's Spider-Man 2, just "2".

Spider Man 2 should be the best movie of next year.

I still think they should have called it "The Amazing Spider Man", as opposed to Spider Man 2.

Then they could have called the thrid movie "The Spectacular Spider Man". Would have kept it more true to the comic references.

Only comic aficionados would get it, alhtough I can't think of any cooler titles.

Spider-Man 2 Teaser Trailer To Debut At Yahoo!

With early excitement building towards its July 2, 2004 release, Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel Studios announced today that the first theatrical teaser trailer for Spider-ManŽ 2 will premiere online, exclusively at Yahoo!, streaming to fans around the world beginning on December 15 at 12:01am EST. Fans everywhere who visit the Yahoo! front page will be able to click on the Spider-Man banner and experience a top-quality stream of the film's teaser trailer. The trailer is set for prominent placement globally on the front pages of international Yahoo! properties in 13 countries including United States of America, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

Following its online premiere, the new trailer will segue into U.S. theaters on Wednesday, December 17, where the studio is targeting such films as The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

In Spider-ManŽ 2, the latest installment in the blockbuster Spider-ManŽ series, based on the classic Marvel Super Hero Tobey Maguire returns as the mild-mannered Peter Parker, who is juggling the delicate balance of his dual life as a college student and a superhuman crime fighter. The entertaining adventure escalates and Spider-Man's life becomes even more complicated when he confronts a new nemesis, the brilliant Otto Octavius, (Alfred Molina) who has been reincarnated as the maniacal and multi-tentacled "Doc Ock." In addition to Maguire and Molina, Spider-Man 2 also stars Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, Rosemary Harris, Donna Murphy and J.K. Simmons. Spider-Man 2 is directed by Sam Raimi and based on the Marvel Comic book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

Streaming ? That sucks big time!! I guess I'll have to wait to see it with ROTK and then hopefully we'll get a Quicktime version soon there after.

... Experience a top-quality stream of the film's teaser trailer
    It would better be.

If Yahoo wants to dominate the Internet and force itself on us in everything, why won't it do it in an acceptable way!?
It is not enough 'I succeed'. Everyone else must fail.

Well depends on whose 'acceptable way' they're aiming for: the trailer fanatics, or average joe blows with a dialup at home?

    Angry Stupid Yahoo Streaming everything!!!

Ah this sucks serious balls! Yahoo sucks balls I hate streaming trailers first i can't download the Walking Tall trailer with the Rock in it and now this! yahoo blows and I want my Spider-Man 2 trailer on the 15th or yahoo is making angery and you don't want to make me angery (sorry wrong movie ) but this isn't fair I don't think it is, there should always be 2 different formats of trailers when they are presented on the web a streaming format for people who just want to give it a peek and a downloadable format (Quicktime, Avi, Mpeg...it doesn't Matter!)
for people who want to have it on their hard drives for keeps and watch it over and over until the film released. I think Yahoo is being unfair in just supplying the streaming version hopefully the Spider-Man movie site or some other site will have it for download I also here that there is a trailer for the Garfeild movie on its way and yahoo better not get there greedy paws on it for stream only! anyway Yahoo streaming trailers suck balls
