FYI this flick is a big winner of this year's AFI Awards (Australia's 'equivolent to the Oscars') taking away 8 Awards.

But that's because there's no good local films churned out from Down Under this year.

(Yes you have to take my opinions with a grain of salt, being angst about still not able to crack into the local film industry. Still, a similar story was done two years ago in another Aussie film by Clara Law called 'The Goddess of 1967'. THAT flick got a nude sex scene with Rose Bryne and didn't make much of a fuzz besides in the wanky Film Festival circle. So why should this one be better just cos the terrible Muriel stars in it!!? Is the so-called Australian writers and directors have no other better stories to tell? You'd be da judge... Sheesh... I'd rather see an no-brain action flick with blood and gore a la Kill Bill about the Eureka Stockale than THIS. )
