    MIB 2 ....$90 million 1st week

According to studio estimates issued on Sunday, "Men in Black II" sold about $90 million worth of tickets since its release on July 3.

    "DEEDS" REACHES $74 MILLION

The Sandler comedy "Mr. Deeds," which topped the rankings last weekend, slipped to No. 2 in its second round with $18.8 million for the three days, $26.3 million for the five days and $74.1 million to date.

It was also released by Columbia, which claimed about 50 percent of the weekend's receipts. With five No. 1 movies to date this year, led by the $400 million-grossing "Spider-Man," the studio will beat its own speed record when it passes the $1 billion mark for domestic sales later this week; the old mark was set in 1997 when Columbia passed $1 billion in early September. Sony executives are also bullish about such upcoming films as "Stuart Little 2" and the Vin Diesel vehicle "XXX."

    M][B

Actually, I was thinking M][B was gonna suck, but I went to see it, and it wasn't too shabby. I wrote a review of it, you can check it out here. I give it 3 1/4 stars. It's very entertaining, but too short and fleeting to warrant anything more.

It's AT LEAST a tie with Empire.

[reviewing other movies on the list]
You know I've never really cared for Titanic...:p

Blah. Shows you something that ALL of the Star Wars movies (except maybe that Ewok one which DOESN'T COUNT...) are on the list. :p:p

Yes, but does that figure in inflation in ticket prices?

I have no idea about the inflation thing, and that might even figure in the re-release totals as well, I'm not sure. I didn't like Titanic either lol. For me, the only good Star Wars movies were A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back... Return of the Jedi is where it started to go downhill. Episode I was the worst in my opinion, and Episode II was a little better... higher on my scale than Jedi I think.

I need to calm down? LOL this is a forum for people's personal opinions and that's mine. You seem to be quite upset over my opinion... I don't dislike it just because it's making so much money or so many people are going to it... I liked Spider-Man and that made a lot of money, and there are a lot of other big-budget movies that grossed lots of money that I liked as well.
I don't need to be smoking something, as you say, I am entitled to my opinion, and that's my opinion, do I HAVE to like it just because so many people like it? Good for them, I have no problem with the people who like it, but apparently you've chosen to have a problem with me because I didn't. Calm down dude!
By the way, I don't know where you got your numbers from, but mine are official from Yahoo, and are U.S. totals, as of when I posted that message.
Indeed, you , are the sad one.

Mark... sometimes opinions have to be based on facts and be backed up with facts, ......

i did not notice this thread went into the Star Wars thing.... anyway i think your arguement is wrong. There is no other movie series in history to have made so much money as Star Wars. All 5 episodes so far broke the 200 million mark, which is good or the best any movie can do, even 100 million is enough

lets see.... in the top 20 movies OF ALL TIME IN USA.... what movie series u see 5 times... STAR WARS...... thats a very good indication that its not a disappointment...

    http://boxofficemojo.com/alltime/domestic/

there are about 200 movies in the list, any movie making more than 100 million i think is a box office success

    1,777,000,000 US $ total

for the Star Wars series in the USA alone... now thats a alot of money, and no other movie series made so much as Star Wars....
    :butt: :butt: :butt:

ohhhh and i love SpiderMan also..see he could dance
