Any comments? I have only seen "Closer", so I can't say much. Although I like Morgan Freeman a lot, and looks like Jamie Foxx was brilliant in "Ray", I really wanted Alan Alda and Johnny Depp to win an oscar.

Oh, and - Beyonce, Natalie and Kirsten Dunst were sooo beautiful!

Cheadle or Eastwood deserved best actor... Foxx only got it because he was the one favored to win. He did a great impersonation of Ray... but that's what a comedian does... impersonations. I think he would've deserved it more for Collateral. His speech was one of the most insincere I've seen in awhile... completely fake and rehearsed. Now he got his little oscar, and he can go star in Booty Call 2: Electric Boogaloo.
While we're on the subject, when the hell is Scorsese going to finally win an oscar for best picture? It's getting about damn time!

I imagine the academy is not going to award a Best Director Oscar to Scorsese when they know it's not his best work and can do better. M$B was some of Eastwood's best...very deserving.

Foxx did come off as rehearsed...I'm guessing it hard to handle a moment like that when it's been a given for so many months (plus, he did the same speech at the Golden Globes). Foxx was awesome in Collateral...hopefully he'll chew up the scenery in Jarhead later this year.

Sigh....unfortunatly, he is the perpetual bridesmaid in that one. I'm more dissapointed that he has never won for best director. I can't knock Clint because he is has an impressive resume of films he has directed, but come on....at least he has one best director before. Oh well, maybe Scorsese will at least get a lifetime acheivement oscar someday.
