My new iPod
Finally got around to getting an iPod. I had a 20GB Zen from Creative for the last year that served me well but it was time to get something a little lighter and thinner with a colour screen so I got a 30GB iPod video. I like what Apple has put into and now understand the iPod craze a little more now. I was really excited to see that you can download TV shows off of iTunes and went to purchase LOST but then found out they are only available in the US store and you can only set-up and account for the US store if you have a US based billing address That's my only complaint so far. I also went and picked up a 250GB hard drive to be solely a media drive in my PC and I'm slowly converting my CD collection to being 100% digital.
You're waiting for a train, a train that will take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you, but you can't be sure. But it doesn't matter - because we'll be together.

Actually, not to rain on your parade, but some iPod owners I know has been complaining about how difficult it is to change the ridiculously-fragile battery (that dies all of a sudden with no apparent reason and warranty doesn't cover it). So perhaps it's a good idea to get a spare battery while you can.
Plus I've been told that on a PC you can't live with a iPod without iTunes, which to some extent, sucks. But I don't have one myself so I may be misled.
As for bigger hard drive, alas it's never enough.

I read it's something like $60 to have them replace the battery but I'm pretty sure most of the hard drive based players don't have user replaceable batteries.
I've been using iTunes and it seems pretty good. Haven't had any issues yet. I like it a lot better than the Creative software that I used with the Zen.

This is my first Apple product and I"m impressed. I'm looking at getting a laptop latter this year and was thinking of getting a powerbook but why the hell are Apple products so freaking expensive???

STOLEN!!!
My freaking iPod was stolen today at work!!! I had it with me today, as I do most days. I was watching LOST while on lunch. I got back from lunch and put it with my tupperware under my jacket on a chair in our office. I went to go home about 4 hours later and it was gone! I can't believe it! It was my old stupid fault in a way as I never locked the door but was going in and out of the office the whole time and didn't see anyone. I'm a manger in a retail store and our office is in the back of our receiving area around a corner and out of site from customers. I can't believe that someone would actually get back there and to top it off steal my iPod!!

I am truly sorry that happened:
The only people at work who knows you had an IPod would be your employees and one of them took it.
If they can steal from you, they will steal from the store.
I recommend that you file a Police report immediately; maybe it will show up at a Pawn shop and they are required by law now to enter every piece of merchandise they receive into a National system here in the U.S; I don't know if that's the same case in Canada.
Also, keep an eye out to see if anyone employees suddenly show up with an Ipod one day; you have the serial number imprinted on the box that it came in and you will be able to prove to this person and the Police that it belongs to you.

I don't know what would bother me most. An employee or a customer. The employee would bother me obviously because they betrayed my trust and stole from me. The only thing about that is I had three staff members on tonight and only 2 knew I had an iPod. One of them I talked to and he helped me look, which I know doesn't mean anything. The other I will talk to tomorrow.
If it was a customer that opens up a whole new set of problems as they were in a area of the store they had no business being in. What else could they have been doing and why exactly were they doing back there?
Well hopefully it'll turn up (I doubt it) but who knows.
