"The Hitcher" remake?

"One Tree Hill" star Sophia Bush is set to play the female lead in "The Hitcher" remake reports Production Weekly.

Director Dave Meyers is helming the remake which will follow two young travelers who are tormented by a mysterious hitchhiker. The original starred Rutger Hauer, C. Thomas Howell and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Jake Wade Wall and Eric Brent penned the script, with shooting to begin in June in Austin, Texas.

Why do they have to remake a cult classic?



I saw the original when it came out by chance.

I went to the theater to see something else (F/X) and it was sold out so I went into "the Hitcher" not knowing what it was about and I was surprised by it!!

It's been one of my all time favorite movies ever since!!

hmmm...in fact I didnt even see the first one and if its trailer wouldnt apear at public ftp, I wouldnt even know about it.
but its same like with every other remakes - its all about the money. Some movies just have to be make in new way for new generation to remind people the old one.
