    Gremlins 3

    The talk has been going on for quite some time”, the WB source says of a third “Gremlins” film, which many speculate will utilise CGI rather than puppetry. "I think that’s all it is at the moment. Talk. I know [name removed] has a pretty full slate over at Premiere – they’re looking at doing direct to video sequels to Scooby Doo and The Goonies, and as you mentioned, Premiere are soon to start production on The Lost Boys 2 and New Jack City 2 – so won’t be in any rush.

    “..it isn’t possible to do anything on the budget of those [DTV sequels], and to be half decent, this thing would have to have a bit of money behind it, so I don’t think one can safely say it’ll definitely end up one of the titles on the Warner Premiere slate, but I believe its a consideration”.
    Clark Kent is who I am. Superman is what I can do.

    The fact that the gremlins were puppets was part of its charm. Who doesn't remember the cute little Gizmo. Now imagine him as a cgi concept, it wouldn't work at all.
    Nowadays creativity for mainstream motion pictures is hopelessly lost in Hollywood so they keep on recycling old hits with sequels, prequels, remakes, etc...

    Why are they recycling the old stuff?

    The only ways you can get me to watch Gremlins 3 are:

    1. Phoebe Cates is in it;
    2. Gizmo is a mechanical puppet and not CGI;

    I was at the bookstore today looking for a business book and I walked thru the Fiction and Mystery section;

    just off hand with my naked eyes, I could see at least 10 books that would make good movies!!

    By the way, I still have the stuffed Gizmo I bought in 1984 and it's still looking brand new because I left it in the original cellophane wrapping:

    and I still have the talking Gizmo by Furby:

    I will always love polish... "Gizmo Kupa!"

    Go and make third one!

    BTW. I've heard that Joe Dante will not be in this. Sad.

    IMO I think this movie would bomb out at the box office.

    I think a Gremlins movie would do very well in theaters.

    I would also like to get my hands on one of those Gizmo stuffed animals. It looks like it would make a great gift.
    If you can stay calm, while all around you is chaos...then you probably haven't completely understood the seriousness of the situation.

    There is no movie, it's just some buzz going around on the net, just like there is buzz about Star Wars ep 7,8,9.
