    Talking Directions with Google Maps

Someone on another forum I swing past occasionally pointed this fun tidbit out:

Go to maps.google.com (or if you prefer, go to Google and click on Maps)

    Click on "Get Directions"

In the first box, type "Boston, MA"

In the second box, type "Paris, France"

    Click on "Get Directions"

Pay special attention to step #5

You might also glance at the estimated time.

Looks Like it only works for US to european locations -- but that's really funny!

Also funny that all routes through their method go thru France!

Um, it works from Europe to U.S. as well (and I noticed the 5,000+ kilometers instead of 3,000+ Miles), but all paths from the U.S. to Europe seems to go between Boston and France, so somewhere along the line, someone at Google had some fun programming it in.

I wonder why they'd have someone swim from Massachusetts? Wouldn't it be more logical to drive up to Newfoundland?
