Is it just me or are teaser and theatrical trailers becoming more and more alike?

    Not just you, everyone else.....
Teasers used to be obvious with not much but a glimpse and a Title, just enough to get your imagination and curiosity going, Inception and 2012 comes to mind among others, but now it appears the trend is going towards making Teasers that look like Trailers, and then re-cutting it, adding a few extra scenes (seconds) and releasing it as a Trailer. Throw in the revised versions (Date Cards, etc) and you get totally confused.
One of my favorite Teasers was Alien, with their "Nobody can Hear you Scream in Space" or something like that.

I agree... I think it was Sherlock Holmes that had a "second" trailer where they extended a shot in the beginning and changed the scene at the end of the trailer. Other than that, same music, same everything...

I do miss the great teaser days... though there have been some pretty good ones over the past couple years. The Dark Knight and Transformers for example.
