Auf der winzigen Insel Spiegeleiland leben fünf Insulaner: der Maler Otto (Otto Walkes) malt Watt, der Koch Pit (Rick Kavanian) kocht Kabeljau, Mike (Mirco Nontschew) ist für die Fitness zuständig, Oskar (Max Giermann) für Modefragen und Artur (Arnd Schimkat) hält per Computer Verbindung zur Außenwelt. Sie leben vom Tourismus – sie versuchen es zumindest, indem sie ein selbst gedrehtes Werbevideo ins Netz stellen. Doch wer daraufhin ihre reizarme Insel heimsucht, ist der Casinobesitzer und Kunstsammler Jean Du Merzac (Sky Dumont), der Otto arglistig und widerrechtlich um seinen wertvollsten Besitz bringt: ein altmeisterliches Gemälde, das sich seit Generationen in Familienbesitz befindet.
