PART II: THE REMAKES - A6

It's almost a dance, the wiggle you do as you sit; your head not in the present, but wishing for the dull ache to reach it's conclusion and be done with.

All the troubles you have in zed world. And this gets plopped on you. A sign of your age, you have hemorrhoids and not the option to make a din. By dumb luck you found this concealed chair to sit out the unhipsters moving about, below you.

Two days ago you found this barn and an above area which you thought was safe to bed your sleeping bag - which it is.

There was a chair present and with some slight work with your trusty little can of oil, you had gotten the squeaks from the lounger deflated. But then the ache started - too much stress.

And then they showed up. Grubby skinny jeans, muted suspenders, ratty goatees, too old be be current glasses (which could very be pretend glasses), one of them with a bloody fedora - another has what appear to be backpack made for tweens. Was that suppose to be ironic?

    *shakes head*

They walked into the area this morning. Going, who knows where? All of four of them, zero exception have a dead smart phone in one hand. Even the guy who barely has an arm with a Che Guevara tee. They move for a moment then rise their hand to check their phone, not in synch, but enough times to see that this is pure instinct.

What would happen if they got that messenger beep? Anyhow, no noise, some moment then hand raise - and repeat. The super sad part is this could've been avoided. You overslept - it was a nice day.

With ever so gentle hands, you open your backpack and pull out the worn Jackie Collins' novel, you still hadn't finished. It's gonna be a very, very long day.

    SOUNDTRACKS PART IX

A second re-re-release of Paul McCollough's soundtrack of "Night" 1990 is coming.

The first was a remastered CD from Numenorean Music in 2002. Then again in 2014 from BSX Records as a digital only download.

Now comes the soundtrack... in a third format - vinyl. Yes you read correctly, a two disc set to be exact.

Pre-orders are being taken from Strange Disc and Fat Beats. Pardon?

The basic LP set is from Strange Disc for $24.99, black vinyl limited edition with obi strip. Yeah, I'm not feeling that cover.

The soundtrack is also an exclusive from Fat Beats; clear vinyl with blood red splatter variant for $27.99, limited to a hundred copies (now sold out).

Both versions have an October 31st, 2018 release date.

There is a new development on Romero's final undead project. It's not happening.

    But there some optimism.

It was announced at the July 2018, San Diego Comic-Con that "Road Of The Dead" will come out as a three issue comic book from IDW Publishing.

The George A. Romero and Matt Birman screenplay was adapted by writer Jonathan Mayberry. This is a prequel to "Survival Of The Dead" (2009). The story is about a possible cure found and gangs trying to be the one to have it. A cure would mean serious power in the new world.

It will have covers by artists Drew Moss and Santiperez.

This is a departure from older news which said "Road" would be sequel to "Land Of The Dead" (2005).

It's set in a sanctuary city where this fat cat runs a haven for rich folks, and one of the things that he does is stage drag races to entertain them. There's a scientist there doing genetic experiments, trying to make the zombies stop eating us, and he has discovered that with a little tampering, they can recall certain memory skills that enable them to drive in these races. It’s really "The Fast And The Furious" with zombies.
    - Romero

That quote was from him three days before he died - July 16th, 2017; when the first poster image was released to the public.

The concept originated from a pitch by Birman in 2007. Indeed.

Not taking no for an answer; I something big planned for next month. See you then.
