I think that knowing how to play might have been a requirement at the auditions so Brody probably plays the piano. HIs playing looks realistic but they swithed it with the actual music. As you can probably figure the music sounds very clear - something that wouldn't happen if the sound was recording during the filming. I could be wrong though.
