ONE HOUR PHOTO helmer Mark Romanek will direct Tom Hanks in the crime thriller A COLD CASE for Universal Pictures. Hanks, who is preparing to star in Steven Spielberg's next film, TERMINAL, will likely move on to COLD CASE sometime in the first part of 2004. The script is being written by Eric Roth (FORREST GUMP); the original material was first an article in The New Yorker magazine which was later turned into a book.

Hanks will play a New York City D.A. investigator named Andy Rosenzweig who commits himself to solve the murder of a friend. Rosenzweig spends the length of his 27-year career with the D.A. trying to solve the crime as his leads grow ever colder with each passing year.
