They are both good

except

the TV miniseries was better.

Why?

More characters development and study, the It was only shown in glimpses adding more tension to the horror, more heart and soul and emotional story;

while the theatrical remake is more visual, less characters development and study, and shows too much of the creature;

and of course, lots of gore, blood, gross parts and horror CGI - all of which could had been toned down a bit:

it's a movie based on a Stephen King's novel, not an Eli Roth horror porn.

Plus it doesn't end, you will have to wait until 2019 for the adult chapter of the story so they can double dip your wallet!!
