new trailers at apple.com only 12fps
for the past few weeks i noticed apple has been f*cking with us..... releasing trailers only in 12fps, well most of the new ones, not all
City by the Sea and Treasure Planet for example..... both of these trailers im sure we already got from other sources... i have both of these already from other links..... now these Apple.com version are only 12FPS....
and the ones posted before are in normal 24fps.... wtf is wrong with Apple.... lets start an email Campaign , asking them not to f*ck us by buying a full version of QT Pro and give an content at only 12 fps

I think apple gets the trailers from the company of the movie itself. Maybe companies lowered the frame rate for faster download times.

I'm keeping tralers from warnerbros. and disney's sites, because new apple trailers are in worse quality. Especially they are suck when I'm watching them in fullscreen mode. I remember old trailers have the same size, but 24fps and much better quality than new ones.

damn... all the new trailer sposted today at Apple are again only at 12fps....

The Believer

Yeah, I noticed that too how Apple is going to the 12fps trailers. That's so stupid. They have like a ridiculous amount of storage space for these trailers online (we all know that they have sooo many on their site), so switching to this lower frame rate hardly saves any space at all (if that is what their intention is).
Perhaps people didn't like the long download times, I don't know. But Apple offers the three choices of video quality, and by picking the "Hi-Res, Broadband" feature, I want a Hi-Res, Hi-Quality trailer! (am I right?)
Or maybe Apple thought that we wouldn't recognize that the trailer is at half the frame rate it used to be. My goodness, it's so easy to tell though (it plain sucks!).
They better get their act together otherwise they will start to lose lots of loyal customers.

It looks like that all the original trailers that Apple first releases are 24fps and all trailers that Apple re-releases after the official site launched them, its 12 fps. Makes sence y Apple is doing 12 fps now.

Ok, after I wrote my comments on here last night about Apple's 12fps trailers, I decided to e-mail them with my comments...
Here is their reply:
Hi Greg.
Thanks for the honest feedback.
Not all the large trailers are @ 12fps. We evaluate titles for lower motion that are not as dependent on a high frame rate for 12fps. In fact, quite the opposite was done on the trailer for "Step Into Liquid". Not only was it 24fps for all but one size, we even added an additional 600 wide trailer to showcase the power and beauty of the trailer.
We are very interested in being able to "spend" our bandwidth wisely and doing things like 12fps trailers for mostly dialog based trailers gives us that. We can't say that all trailers are going to be 24fps, but we are committed to maintain as high a level of quality and delivery as possible while still providing an extremely fast download/viewing experience. We're not going to do anything to lessen the experience of viewing trailers on our site. We have some *very* exciting trailers coming over the next few days and you can count on them being presented in the best possible way.
Thanks again for the email! If you have any other comments about our site we want you to email us.

Wow, you got answer from them. It's a miracle! They never answered to my mails.
Still can't get, whats wrong in 24fps. They force me to prefer trailers from other sites, because they have have better quality and framerate.

Does anyone know if Apple make other trailer(s) available in this resolution? (Not the obvious ones like Hulk or LOTR, which they at least give you links to download the full-screen version.)

In the case of the Blood Work trailer, it may not sound like much, but the
ratio of trailer views that we receive vs. WB is considerable. Every little
bit helps when it comes to terabytes of data every day.
