PART I: THE 1968 CLASSIC - P

A short post about something that is now old news.

Did not know about this until a little while ago. It was unique, thought I'd give it a mention.

Radio station KCRW (89.9 FM) in Los Angeles, California presented the 1968 film with a new synthwave score - performed live, by the punk band "The Paranoyds".

Part of the station's "Bring The Noise" program; new live music on existing movies.

The event was hosted by film critic Elvis Mitchell.

Attendees received a limited edition Matt Owen poster (above). Creative poster text.

This happened on May 24th, 2008 at The Bing Theater at LACMA (on Wilshire Boulevard). Followed by a reception, hosted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

The band appeared on stage as the film was shown (some in zombie make-up), performing.

The event started at 7:30PM.

This was announced in April with tickets going on sale at April 26th, 2018. Tickets sold for $25.00. That's about it.

I heard some of the music, it was okay. Not great - different.

Above is another poor resolution behind-the-scenes pix. Romero playing with the light gage, setting up a shot.
