What chapter of Best Buy Canada Dummies Guide How To Scam Our Customers Vol. 1 does this fall under because not trying to get off topic. But you also noticed that titles like The Predator (Limited Edition) (Steel Book) (Only at Best Buy) (4K Ultra HD) (Blu-ray Combo) https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product...m2228850.aspx? is still available for online order but it is not with the rest of the steelbooks someone is not paying attention.
Lol I didn’t even know it was still available since it doesn’t show up on Steelbook searches. Bestbuy pays attention, they know what they are doing. It’s like Pinky & The Brain, "Gee Brain, what are we gonna do tonight?" Brain: "The same thing we do every night, mess with Steelbook consumers!

    @leprekon

The new site has PMS full time, I'm not even sure that they actually know what they're doing anymore.
Someone should call the Geek Squad to fix it!!!!!

There you go, so planned release date is November, which is about 2 months after the first wave.
November is also particular because you also end up with "Black Friday", so you want to get as much out prior to sales.

Disney is also the largest Studio, so it's unfortunately a lot of releases. Everyone will feel the pinch.

Physical media is here to stay.
Streaming competes with cable and TV, add the Covid scenario, and movie theaters that survive will be scaled down dramatically, probably to what we had as kids, no more Multiplexes.

The landscape may change for Physical Media, but new companies are popping up yearly offering titles, new and old, some that were once deemed lost forever.

Thank Niche companies like Vinegar Syndrome, Kino Lorber, Severin, Second Sight, Twilight Time, Scorpion and more.
Movie Studios are struggling as well, and many have opened up their catalogues for MOD because it's profitable.

As for SteelBooks, it's a marketing tool, unfortunately Canada is running out of retailers because this country's political climate and population size is a detriment to investors.

In other news, Source The Toronto Star:

Best Buy: The consumer electronics retailer said it would be reducing its workforce by 0.7 per cent, estimated to be about 700 employees, in January.

Yup, that pretty much sum things up at Best Buy Canada and Steelbooks at this time.

Sorry to hear that, but you probably would have received damaged goods anyway.

So much for the $50 voucher that was mentioned at some point, they're even getting cheap on the "Sorry" vouchers.
They used to be at least $10.....

As for the pre-orders, I wouldn't get concerned with the wording, first off there's always cancellations and orders that get denied due to payment method difficulties.
The only time to get concerned is ordering on, or after the release date. On hand inventory changes pretty rapidly due to replacements of damaged goods and last minute buyers.

One thing @jacques1400 I find funny is of all the Disney/Marvel steelbooks we can't find in store or online replacements for they still have copies of the Captain Marvel steelbook available. Maybe because of its lackluster box office performance.

Keep in mind that the stores are the ones getting the damaged ones back, so they might have stock on the shelves, but I'm pretty sure that with a close inspection you'll find that quite a few are damaged returns.

Normally studios proceed in waves for older titles, so Yes, it's possible that they will re-release in time for Christmas.
Don't forget that there were a crap load of re-releases, in addition to the new stuff.

By taking a break, it gives the customers a chance to breathe and pay their bills. LOL

Very true @jacques1400 but if this information is true from hidefninja.com concerning that these Disney movies being released on these titles on the Best Buy USA website like Zootopia, Moana, Big Hero 6, Tangled and The Princess and the Frog (4K+2D Blu-ray SteelBook) (Best Buy Exclusive) [USA] is slated for November 5,2019 in addition to the remaining 4K steelbooks for Antman, Dr. Strange and Gaurdians of the Galaxy. I do believe I will have to take out a small morgage to finance these items; but seeing how there has been no word concerning the 4K steelbooks for Antman, Dr. Strange and Gaurdians of the Galaxy maybe my check book might be a little lighter.

Soul is available from Zavvi as we speak, and I wouldn't get my hopes up too much on this getting here at Best Buy Canada.
Best Buy US has been cranking out SteelBooks like there's no tomorrow, and all we get is retail wide releases which I don't get from them. Sucks to be Canadian these days for SteelBooks.

Hell, I even slowed my US purchases, everything went up, shipping, SteelBooks, exchange is crap, and I get hit with State taxes to boot since I'm shipping to my forwarding address in the US.
