IGN: "The Top 25 Animated Movies of All-Time"
Found this in another forum (thanks theocsummer ). It's a bit old, September 2005. From IGN:
The Top 25 Animated Movies of All-Time
We pick the best.
by IGN FilmForce
September 30, 2005 - Here at IGN FilmForce, we like to argue; not about who tracked mud through the kitchen, or which of the editors used all of the toilet paper in the men's room. We like to argue about movies… which is better than which and why. Unfortunately, after the umpteenth shouting match, the higher-ups decided it would be a whole lot cooler to put all of this arguing to some kind of positive use.
Therefore, we came up with an exhaustive plan: we will rate the Top 25 movies for 13 genres in 13 weeks. Starting today, we will roll out a new genre each Friday until we have covered the most important categories of movies, beginning with Animation!
The following editors took part in the endeavor, and their write-ups are indicated by the corresponding initials:
- Brian Linder- Senior Editor, IGN FilmForce: BL
- Brian Zoromski- Editor-in-Chief, IGN FilmForce: BZ
- Chris Carle- Entertainment Editorial Manager: CC
- Jeff Otto- Editor, IGN FilmForce: JO
- Steven Horn- Publisher, IGN Entertainment: SH
- Todd Gilchrist- Editor-in-Chief, IGN DVD: TG

He doesn't seem to be coming back so here is the list:
25. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
24. Pinocchio
23. Bambi
22. Princess Mononoke
21. Fantasia
20. Monsters, Inc.
19. Metropolis
18. Charlotte's Web
17. Transformers: The Movie
16. Grave of the Fireflies
15. Dumbo
14. Shrek
13. The Lion King
12. Toy Story
11. The Little Mermaid
10. Beauty and the Beast
9. Aladdin
8. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
7. The Incredibles
6. Spirited Away
5. The Nightmare Before Christmas
4. Finding Nemo
3. South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut
2. Iron Giant
1. Toy Story 2
Not sure I agree with a lot of this. I love South Park but how does it rank above The Lion King, a movie who's quality alone should have it in the top 5.
I am not at all surprised to see Disney dominate the list. I am a little surprised though to not see movies like Akira or Ghost in the Shell. Heavy Metal might even qualify.Peace is a lie, there is only passion.

I take it they weren't fans of films like
Akira
The Prince of Egypt
Ghost in the Shell 1&2
Steam Boy
Howl's Moving Castle
Ninja Scroll
Mulan
Perfect Blue
The Nightmare Before Christmas and Lion king should be higher up the list as well.
Also how did stuff like Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Iron Giant make the list

Putting south park on 3rd place immediatly makes that list loose all credebility.
